Bhubaneswar: The morning session of the Odisha Assembly was adjourned on Monday following uproar by BJP members.

As soon as the House session began, Speaker Surya Narayan Patro announced resumption of the question hour. However, protesting against the decision of the Speaker, BJP members rushed to the well of the House demanding a discussion on law and order situation in the state following the recent incidents of firing on a businessman in Kendrapara and triple murder at Pattnaikia Chhak near Puri.

Unable to run the proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House till 11.30 am.

The uproarious scene continued to prevail during the Zero Hour after the Congress members raised the law and order issue and demanded a clarification from the Chief Minister. As the Speaker in his ruling directed the minister of state for Home to furnish a reply, the irate Congress members rushed to the well of the House and protested near the Speaker’s podium while demanding a clarification from the Chief Minister.

As the commotion continued to prevail, the Speaker adjourned the house till 3 pm.
