Lawyer killed over ‘past enmity’ in Puri

Puri: A lawyer was killed by some unidentified miscreants at Hospital Square in Puri on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Laxmidhar Mohapatra.

A group of assailants attacked Mohapatra when he was refueling his vehicle at a filling station. They fled the spot immediately after committing the crime.

The victim was rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar when his condition deteriorated. But, the doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Members of Puri Lawyers’ Association alleged that Mohapatra was murdered over an old enmity.
