Bhubaneswar: A girl student of Basic Science College in Odisha capital has accused a lecturer of sending obscene messages to her.
According to sources, the lecturer of the Life Science department had allegedly sent the messages to girl students in the late hours of October 31.
Thereafter, the students raised the issue with the college authorities, based on which the college director Suryakant Mishra formed a committee to probe the matter.
Later, the committee found evidence against the lecturer and submitted a report to OUAT Vice-Chancellor Pawan Kumar Agarwal.
“We have an anti-harassment cell in our university. A meeting will be conducted during which the accused lecturer and the student will be questioned based on the evidence report. Strict action will be taken against the accused is found guilty,” said Mishra.
