Puri: The mortal remains of legendary musician Prafulla Kar were consigned to flames at Swargadwara here with full state honours on Monday.
His elder son Mahadev Kar performed the last rites.
Law Minister Pratap Jena, School & Mass Education Minister Sameer Dash and State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Sanjay Dasburma attended the funeral along with hundreds of others from the music and film fraternity.
The body of the eminent musician was taken to Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi (OSNA) before being brought to Puri Swargadwara for the last rites.
Kar breathed his last on Sunday night at the age of 83 at his residence in Satya Nagar.
