Kalahandi: Two leopard cubs loitering on the premises of Amapani police station in Odisha’s Kalahandi district was captured by the CCTV camera of the police station.
The cubs, which seemed to have lost their way, were seen entering the police station last night. On Friday morning, police saw scratches on their official vehicle and on checking CCTV cameras they found that the leopard cubs had made those marks.
The villagers near Amapani police station are in panic and expecting the presence of big cats in nearby Sahajakhola Jungle.
It may be mentioned that a few days back, a leopard was rescued from a farmland in the district. The Forest department had rescued the leopard, following a 12-hour rescue operation.
A leopard was spotted on the National Highway (NH) 201 near Amapani ghat on January 5 night.
It was seen roaming on the NH near Kalahandi-Nabarangpur bordering area when a person recorded its movements at Sahajkhol jungle near Tirliama village, as per a report in Hindustan Times. The man was enrouted to Visakhapatnam. The report had quoted ANI tweet:
