Bhubaneswar: Officials of the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance seized a leopard skin during a raid in Udyanbandh Forest Range under Khariar Forest Division in Nuapada district on Tuesday.
Acting on an information, Vigilance officials conducted the raid and detected a wildlife case. One leopard skin (Panthera pardus) was recovered from the spot. One person was apprehended during the raid.
The accused has been identified as Inyat Alli, a hunter from Kumuntimunda village under Komna Police Station in Nuapada district. He was arrested on the spot for violation of Section 9 and punishable under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
Further investigation is underway.
