Baripada: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch with the help of Betanati forest officials have seized two leopard skins and arrested two persons near SCB Junior College, Ragdha, under Betanati police limits of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and seized two leopard skins from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Prasanta Kumar Mohanty of Kuamara village and Gora Bindhani of Balijuda village. They were later handed over to Baripada forest officials on Wednesday.
The seized leopard skins will be sent to Wild Life Institute of India, Deharadun, for chemical examination, an official release said.
Notably, the STF has seized 24 leopard skins, 12 elephant tasks, 7 deer skins, 9 live pangolins, and 15 kg pangolin scales and arrested 54 wildlife criminals in the last one year.
