‘Let’s End It Now’: Anubhav Mohanty Calls Out Ex-Wife Varsha For Smear Campaign In Movies

Cuttack: Almost a year after being granted divorce, actor Anubhav Mohanty has challenged his ex-wife Varsha Priyadarshini for a “public LIVE discussion” over their marital discord and subsequent separation.

He put forth this proposal over alleged misrepresentation of their married life in movies being produced by her.

Taking to his Facebook account last night, Anubhav called for one last discussion on the issue.

“I respectfully extend a sincere and open invitation to Miss Varsha Priyadarshini for a peaceful and public LIVE discussion. It is important to note that I won the divorce case more than a year ago on the grounds of cruelty against me and non-consummation of marriage, as there was no sexual relationship between us because you never allowed it. This fact has already been established, but I believe this platform will provide an opportunity to address and clarify all doubts and questions pertaining to our unfortunate marital discord or divorce. As public figures who are accountable to our fans and followers, it is only appropriate that we engage in a respectful dialogue to present the truth in its entirety.”

The former MP advised her against indulging in smear campaign through her movies, perhaps referring to Varsha-starrer ‘Wife’.

“Rather than repeatedly making a mockery of whatever little respect our relationship once had, let’s confront this matter peacefully and close this chapter forever. This will allow us both to provide evidence and explanations for our respective sides, ensuring that our supporters and well-wishers have clarity. You are free to choose the channel and format for this discussion, and I am prepared to face this challenge with absolute honesty,” he wrote.

While fans have come out in support of Anubhav, Varsha is yet to comment on the matter.

Anubhav and Varsha got married on February 8, 2014. The actor filed a divorce lawsuit before a New Delhi court in 2019, which was transferred to the Cuttack family court in 2020 by the Supreme Court on a plea made by Priyadarshini.

Giving a decisive turn to the marital discord amid charges and counter charges, the Orissa high court in December, 2023, held that the former Lok Sabha MP was entitled to get a decree of divorce in his favour.
