Bengaluru: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) will confer the Lifetime Achievement award on Indian badminton great Prakash Padukone.
Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash is a former world No. 1 as well as India’s first All England Championship winner and World Championship medallist.
Prakash, who was conferred with Badminton Association of India’s Lifetime Achievement award in 2018, has contributed immensely to the sport in the country and inspired several generations of champion shuttlers.

BWF will also be acknowledging another India. Alaknanda Ashok, president of Uttarakhand Badminton Association, will receive the Women & Gender Equity Award. She has been associated with badminton administration for many years.
