Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday forecast light to moderate rainfall in Odisha in the next 24 hours.
According to met sources, a cyclonic circulation formed over the Bay of Bengal is active now. Under its influence, most parts of the state are likely to witness short spells of rainfall and cloudy sky.
However, rainfall activity is expected to increase in the state after August 4 and will continue till August 6, the sources added.
Meanwhile, six districts of the state experienced less than 2mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours with Malkangiri district recording a highest of 21 mm.
