Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain and thundershower in several districts across Odisha for five days starting Thursday.
As per the latest bulletin issued by the Met Department, thundershowers are likely at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri districts on Thursday. Similarly, light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts the following day.
On March 30, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudha, Nayagarh, Balasore, Khurda and Ganjam districts may experience light rain.
Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty wind has been forecast in many coastal and interior south Odisha districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudha, Sonepur and Khurda on March 31.
On April 1, thunderstorms along with gusty winds and lightning are expected at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada districts.
Also, the maximum temperature across the state is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees in the next three days.
While Malkangiri sizzled at 40.5 degrees Celsius, the Odisha capital recorded a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius this morning.
