Lightning claims one life in Angul

Angul: A 30-year-old man was killed in lightning strike at Bhimakunda village under Palalahada police limits in Angul district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Bhaskar Dehuri.

According to reports, Bhaskar was sitting in the verandah of his house when he was struck by lightning. He was rushed to Palalahada hospital in a critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The body has been sent for postmortem.

On Friday, two persons were killed while eight others suffered critical injuries in lightning strikes at Komana block in Nuapada district.
