Lightning Claims Seven Lives In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Lightning strikes claimed seven lives across five districts of Odisha on Monday.

While a minor boy of Majhiguda village in Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur died while playing outside his house, a youth of Kathakata village in Anandpur of Keonjhar district passed away after lightning struck him near Birsamunda ground.

In Kendrapara district, a man in Baradanga village of Mahakalapada was killed while in Balikuda block of Jagatsinghpur district, a man and his cow were killed while returning to his Baragudipada village home.

In Dhenkanal district, a woman of Raidihi village and another woman of Dandaragadi village under Sadar police limits died when lightning struck them while they were sitting on the verandah of their house.
