Bhubaneswar: Amid the rain and thunderstorm warning, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday forecast a fall in the day temperature by 2 to 4 degree Celsius at many places in interior Odisha during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, it will again rise gradually by 3 to 5 °C, it added.
Till 8.30 am on Saturday, one or places in Kalahandi, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph.
Hailstorm is also likely at one or two places in Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh during this period.
The yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning continues for the subsequent 24 hours with Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak being likely affected.
The IMD has predicted rain for coastal and South Odisha districts till 8.20 am on April 27.
