Berhampur: A student of Berhampur University died in a lightning strike on Gopalpur beach in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
He was identified as Amit Nayak, a second-year MSc student. He hailed from Ashok Nagar in Bhubaneswar.
Nayak was talking on his mobile phone when he was struck by lightning, reports said. He suffered injuries on his thigh and ear. The mobile phone also exploded. He succumbed to injuries at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
