In Dhenkanal district, two women of Karadapala village under Kankadahad police limits were fatally struck by lightning while they were on way to mill the paddy.
In Rayagada district, a woman of Ghanatri village in Gunupur block died while her husband and son were seriously injured.
A man from Rentasil village of Patnagarh block in Balangir district lost his life while he was returning home.
In another incident, a man succumbed to lightning strike and five others were seriously injured while working on a paddy field in Kuanradihi village of Saraskana block in Mayurbhanj district.
