Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued thunderstorm warning for nine districts of Odisha.
The alert has been sounded for Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj,Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Boudh, Ganjam and Balangir districts till 6:15 pm, a Met bulletin said.
People at these places have been advised to stay indoors or shift to safe locations, if such weather conditions prevail.
Meanwhile, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi had earlier informed that four districts of the state – Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi – have been worst-affected by incessant rain in the last 24 hours.
