Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday closed the most popular lassi joint in the Odisha capital ‘Lingaraj Lassi Sarbat Stall’ at Sahid Nagar, for violating COVID-19 guidelines.
The lassi kiosk faced the closure as it was not following the take-away rule and selling lassi to customers without following social distancing measures.
Sports Emporium, FAB India showroom and two small hotels in the area were also sealed for social distancing norms.
During the day, the BMC closed several shops including Amber Saree Store in the Janpath area, Bhai Tiffin Centre at Ravi Talkies Square and an OMFED booth at Ekamra road for violating lockdown as well as social distancing norms.
