Bhubaneswar: The Lord Lingaraj Temple Administration is gearing up to celebrate the auspicious Mahashivratri on February 14, with devotional fervour and zeal.
According to senior servitor, Lord Lingaraj Temple Rajkishore Mohapatra, the doors of the temple will be opened for ‘Sahanamela darshan’ from 3:30 am to 11 am. Following which, rituals including ‘Surya Puja’, ‘Mahasnana’, ‘Dwarapala Puja’ and ‘Besha’ will be performed in a systematic manner.
The ‘Mahadeepa’ will be taken atop the temple at 10 pm, Mohapatra added.
On the security front, 25 platoons of police force will be deployed to prevent in any untoward incident.
“Keeping in view the congregation of lakhs of devotees, elaborate security arrangements have been made in and around the shrine to ensure safe darshan. A total of 25 platoons of police force will be deployed at the spot and 100 senior officers shall overlook the arrangements. Besides, special emphasis will be given to traffic and crowd management”, a police officer informed.
