Bhubaneswar: All necessary arrangements have been made for reopening of Lingaraj Temple here amid COVID-19 restrictions on Sunday.
The temple premises and the areas around it have been sanitised with the help of Fire Brigade personnel. In order to ensure social distancing among the devotees, barricades have been put up for 100 metre from the entrance of the temple.
As announced earlier, only the family members of the sevayats of the temple will be allowed to have darshan of the deities till December 31. Maximum 500 people can enter the temple at any particular time.
The temple will remain closed for the devotees on January 1 and 2 due to expectation of heavy rush of devotees on the two days. From January 3 to 5, the people of Bhubaneswar will be allowed to go inside the temple and from January 6, all devotees can have darshan of the Lords.
Negative report of COVID-19 test and identity proof have been made mandatory for the devotees to enter the temple.
