Bhubaneswar: Senior servitor of Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar Bijayram Panda passed away on Sunday. He was 84.
Panda was undergoing treatment for heart related complicacies for the last few days. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
Several prominent persons including Jatni MLA Suresh Routray, chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha VK Pandian, additional secretary to chief minister Aditya Mohapatra, Bhubaneswar district president of BJP Babu Singh, corporator Shiba Behera, BJP leader Amiya Das and Congress leader Rashmir Mohapatra paid their last respects to the departed soul at the servitor’s residence in Old Town of the city.
The mortal remains of Panda were consigned to flames at Garabadu cremation ground. His eldest son and chief minister’s PRO Sukant Panda performed the last rites.
