Cuttack: Four staff of Excise Department sustained grievous injuries in an alleged attack by liquor mafia during a raid in Dalua forest under Khuntuni police limits in Athagarh area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday.
According to reports, the assailants attacked the officials with sharp weapons when they reached the forest to conduct a raid following a tip-off about illegal liquor trading in the area. They also vandalised four vehicles of the department parked in the forest.
On being informed about the incident, Khuntuni police and Excise Department officials reached the forest and launched an investigation.
