Liquor Shops To Get Licence Through Lottery In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to issue licence to the existing liquor shops through lottery system for 2021-22.

According to an Excise department notification, the district collectors will be deciding authority for grant of licence to IMFL ‘OFF’ and Country Liquor (ENA based) through the process of lottery.

The applicants have to submit their applications along with non-refundable application fee of Rs 1 lakh and EMD equivalent to three months’ consideration money of the shop applied for online. The collectors will issue a notice in this regard in a few days and the applications should be submitted online within 14 days.

One can submit one application for a particular shop but any number of shops. The lottery will be held in 10 days after the last date of submission of application. The collectors and the applicants or their representatives will be present.

The licence will remain valid for five years including the year of grant unless the government makes any changes. The licence can be renewed from year to year till completion of five years.
