Bhubaneswar: Well-known Odia writer Dr Pradeep Dash was conferred with the prestigious Sarala Samman at a glittering ceremony here on Saturday.
Dash received the award from the Governor Ganeshi Lal for his poetry work ‘Charu Chibar O Charjya’.
The award instituted by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd, carries a cash award of Rs 5 lakh a citation.

Apart from Dash, Pandit Harmohan Khuntia and Lalat Mohan Patnaik were awarded ‘Ila Panda Sangeet Samman’ and ‘Ila Panda Chitrakala Samman’ for their contribution in the field of music and art, respectively with a cash award of Rs 1.50 lakh and citations.
