Balangir: Three persons were electrocuted in two separate incidents in Balangir district on Wednesday.
A woman from Agalapur village near Loisingha came in contact with a live wire when had gone to the roof of her house to dry clothes. Alerted by her scream, her husband rushed to rescue her, but he was also electrocuted. The couple was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared them dead.
In another incident, a youth was killed while trying to save his sister from being electrocuted at Gurundi village near Muribahal.
Sources said the girl was sweeping the floor of her house when she came in contact with a live wire. At this, the youth managed to rescue her, but he was electrocuted. He was later declared dead by the doctors at the community health centre (CHC) at Kantabanjhi.
