Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Friday arrested Livestock Inspector Jagannath Rout of Kalarahanga of Raghunathpur in the capital city following the raids on his property on May 5.
He was found in possession of assets worth Rs 7 crore, in excess of 365% of his known sources of income, the Vigilance stated in a release.
Cuttack Vigilance has registered a case in this connection against Rout and his wife Under Sections 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(b)/12 of PC Act.
During investigation, today Rout was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The Court has remanded him to judicial custody till May 19.
