Livestock Inspector With 365% Unaccounted Wealth Arrested By Vigilance In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Friday arrested Livestock Inspector Jagannath Rout of Kalarahanga of Raghunathpur in the capital city following the raids on his property on May 5.

He was found in possession of assets worth Rs 7 crore, in excess of 365% of his known sources of income, the Vigilance stated in a release.

Cuttack Vigilance has registered a case in this connection against Rout and his wife Under Sections 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(b)/12 of PC Act.

During investigation, today Rout was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The Court has remanded him to judicial custody till May 19.

Here’s the list of property unearthed in the name of Rout and his family members:

  • 91 plots including 81 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and 10 plots in Cuttack district. The Registered Sale Deed (RSD) value comes to over Rs 3.33 crore. However, the actual value is likely to be much higher. Undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard.
  • Triple storey market complex located at Raghunathpur village, Bhubaneswar with approx plinth area of 6000
    sq ft worth over Rs 1.46 crore.
  • One three-storey building in Raghunathpur with approximate plinth area of 6000 sq ft worth over Rs 47.64 lakh.
  • One 3 BHK Flat at Royal Arcade, Bhubaneswar worth over Rs 37.02 lakh.
  • One 3 BHK Flat in Green Garden Apartment, Raghunathpur worth over Rs 34.27 lakh.
  • Two-storey building at Raghunathpur.
  • Single storey building at Raghunathpur with approximate plinth area of 1500 sq ft worth over Rs 28.28 lakh.
  • One double-storey building at Raghunathpur.
  • Outhouse at Charigharia, Banki, Cuttack.
  • Bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs 39.48 lakh.
  • Gold, diamond and silver ornaments (weighing 500 gm gold, 10 gm diamond and 250 gm silver) worth Rs 20.60 lakh.
  • One four-wheeler (Maruti Swift ZXI) worth Rs 7.97 lakh.
  • One two-wheeler, cash and household articles worth over Rs 15.16 lakh.
