Malkangiri: Of the 15 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Malkangiri district in the last 24 hours, 12 were local contact cases, the district administration informed on Sunday.
All the new cases were detected from Malkangiri municipality. Besides the 12 local contact cases, two are symptomatic patients reported from a flu and fever clinic and one symptomatic person is undergoing treatment at SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The district administration has started contact tracing of the new patients, who were shifted to the COVID hospital.
Out of 396 positive cases reported from the district so far, 160 are active cases and 235 patients have recovered. Besides, one person has succumbed to the virus.
