Locals Block Road Over Water Scarcity In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Locals of Biladihi village in Dhenkanal district staged a road blockade on Wednesday to protest drinking water scarcity in their locality.

Placing pots and buckets on road near Biladihi Chhack, the agitators, including women and children, sat on a dharna for several hours demanding regular water supply to the village.

“Irregularity in supply of water for more than a month has made life difficult for us. Despite repeated requests, the district administration has turned a deaf ear to our issues”, an agitator alleged.

The agitators ended their protest after some officials from the district administration reached the spot and assured them that immediate steps will be taken for supplying water to their locality.
