Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of locals looted vegetables strewn by the road after a truck overturned near the Palasuni flyover in the Odisha capital on Thursday morning.
According to sources, the truck carrying vegetables skidded off the road and overturned near the flyover when the driver lost control of the vehicle while on his way to the Unit-I market. The driver and helper of the truck fled the spot soon after the incident.
People of the nearby areas were seen collecting and carrying the vegetables in bags in blatant violation of the COVID-19 protocol even as police stood there as mute spectators, the sources added.
