Locals Stage Road Blockade Over Minor Boy’s Death In Accident In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The residents of Niladri Vihar in Bhubaneswar staged a road blockade in protest against the death of a minor boy in an accident on Saturday.

As per reports, the 12-year-old boy was critically injured in the road mishap and admitted in a hospital on Friday. He succumbed to injuries during treatment on Saturday.

Following the boy’s death, hundreds of local people including women staged the road block at Panda Park square in the area. Alleging that there were frequent road accidents in the area, they demanded construction of speed breakers.

As the movement of vehicular traffic was affected due to the agitation, police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the agitating people.

The locals finally called off the agitation after they were assured of construction of speed breakers on the road.
