Bhubaneswar: Some scenes of the Pusha sequel will be filmed in the Swabhiman Anchal of Odisha’s Malkangiri district and the local administration has granted permission in this regard to the concerned production house, sources said on Sunday.
A team of Mythri Movie Makers camped in Malkangiri on Friday and Saturday to scout locations for Allu Arjun-starrer upcoming film ‘Pushpa 2’. Fightmasters Peter Haines and Dragon Prakash, art director Ramakrishna, assistant producer Subramanyam, co-director Prasad Mariseti and cameraman Debrajs visited many locations, including Swabhiman Anchal, hanging bridge, Hantalguda ghat and Chitrakonda. The six-member team was led by Production manager P Venketeswar Rao.
They have sought permission from Malkangiri collector Vishal Singh and SP Nitesh Wadhwani to shoot some scenes of the sequel of the blockbuster movie. The team will use drone cameras for the shooting, stated a letter sent by Rao.
‘Pushpa-II: The Rule’ will be shot at the hanging bridge and Hantalguda ghat, the under-construction bridge at the spillway in Chitrakonda and Saptadhara bridge on NH-326 between Malkangiri and Jeypore, which were once a dreaded stronghold of Maoists. The shooting is likely to begin in the first week of May, sources added.
After the huge success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, expectations are big for the sequel. The makers had released the poster along with a teaser video, ‘Where is Pushpa?’, on the eve of Allu Arjun’s birthday. The actor is seen in a saree and wearing gold jewellery in the first-look poster of ‘Pushpa: The Rule’.
The much-awaited movie is likely to be released in 2024.
