Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the owner of a sweet shop near Bomikhal bridge in the city for opening the shop without required permission.
A BMC official said the eatery is not included in the list of shops that have been allowed to operate after the Union Home Ministry relaxed some of the norms during the nationwide lockdown.
Only five dhabas have been given permission to resume operation in Khurda district, he added.
