Bhubaneswar: With farmers in Odisha not able to sell their produce in urban markets due to the lockdown, the state Agriculture Department has launched a website to facilitate the sale of vegetables.
Agriculture Minister Arun Kumar Sahu informed this on Tuesday.
Sahu said the farmers will provide information on the website www.odihortmarketing.nic.in about the vegetables they want to sell. On the basis of this information, the district horticulture officers will upload the details regarding the area and the type of vegetables produced there. This will help traders to procure the vegetables from the farmers, the minister said.
He also informed that more than 15,000 traders have registered their names for the online procurement of vegetables.
