Puri: The Pujapanda Nijog of Jagannath Temple has indefinitely suspended Sevayat Laxmi Narayan Pujapanda as a Nijog member in connection with the entry of former Badachana IIC Dipak Kumar Jena into the temple.
Notably, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had issued a show-cause notice to the sevayat and directed the Pujapanda Nijog to take appropriate action against him.
The Simhadwar Police had also interrogated Pujapanda in this connection.
On April 19, Jena and his family members forcibly entered the temple through Dakshindwar (South Gate) and had darshan of the Lords during the lockdown despite being restrained by a police constable on duty.
Later, Swargadwar police had registered a case against the IIC on the basis of a complaint lodged by the constable.
On April 20, Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay had suspended Jena.
