NewDelhi: A day after Prime Minister announced extension of the COVID-19 lockdown till May 3. the Union Home Ministry issued a consolidated guidelines for this period.
Stating that the next one week will be crucial for India’s fight against the virus, the PM had warned people of stricter rules and harsher enforcement.
Based on state performances, he said that some areas will slowly open up and resume activity after April 20.
Here’s the list of commercial services, which will be allowed to operate in India after April 20.
- Print and electronic media
- DTH, and cable services.
- IT & IT Enabled services, with up to 50 per cent strength.
- Data and call centres for government activities only.

>Government-approved common service centers at gram panchayat level. - E-commerce companies. Vehicles used by e-commerce companies will be allowed to ply with necessary approvals.
- Courier services.
- Cold storage and warehousing services, including at ports, airports, railway stations, container depots, individual units, and other links in the logistics chain.
- Private security services, and facility management services for maintenance of office and residential premises.
- Hotels, homestays, lodges, and motels which are accommodating tourists and persons stranded due to lockdown, medical and emergency staff, air and sea crew.
- Establishments earmarked for quarantine facilities.
- Services provided by self-employed persons – electrician, IT repairs, plumbers, motor mechanics, and carpenters.
- Manufacturing units of essential goods – drugs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, their raw material and intermediaries.
- Manufacturing of IT hardware, packaging material.
- Coal production, mine and mineral production, their transportation.
