Lockdown 3.0: Centre Clarifies Movement Norms In Orange Zones

New Delhi: A day after the central government extended the lockdown by two weeks, the Union Home Ministry issued a notification on Saturday to clarify the guidelines on movement of people and vehicles in orange zones. Here are the details:

  • Inter-district and intra-district plying of buses will remain prohibited in orange zones.
  • Taxis and cab aggregators are allowed with one driver and two passengers only.
  • Inter-district movement of individuals and vehicles is allowed, but only for permitted activities. A maximum of two passengers, besides the driver, are allowed in four-wheelers.

However, states and union territories are free to impose further restrictions based on the situation on the ground, the notification said.
