Bhubaneswar: No private bus in Odisha will run in either the green or orange zones from Monday.
The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association took this decision at an emergency meeting here on Sunday.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, secretary of the Association Debendra Sahu said as per lockdown guidelines of the Centre, there will be no plying of buses in the red zone districts of Odisha.
“As regards the plying of buses in the green and orange zones, it will be difficult for us to run our buses between the two districts as a red zone district is between two green zone districts. The state government has neither made it clear about the running of buses under these circumstances nor framed any specific guidelines to this effect. The association will review its decision once the state government issues guidelines on this matter,” Sahu pointed out.
Commerce and Transport minister Padmanav Behera said he will have a meeting with private bus owners on Monday to try and resolve the issue.
