Mumbai: Reliance is set to launch a video conferencing app named Jio Meet to take similar platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Skype, Houseparty, Google Meet, etc.
The video conferencing space has boomed because of work from home measures taken around the world because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jio Meet will be a cross platform device and would work on “any device, any operating system” according to Pankaj Pawar, senior VP of Reliance Jio Infocomm.
The app will be integrated with other platforms such as Jio’s eHealth and eEducation apps. eHealth app will connect users with doctors virtually, get prescriptions, place medicine orders and enable digital waiting rooms for doctors. The eEducation platform will help create virtual classrooms and help students record sessions, assign and submit homeworks, organize tests and so on.
JioMeet app is expected to allow around 100 people to join a single call.
