Vadodara: The lockdown period seems to be turning horrific day by day as recently a man broke his wife’s spinal cord in a fit of rage after she defeated him in a game of ludo.

As per media reports, the couple from Vadodara in Gujarat was playing online ludo at home during the lockdown.

The 24-year-old woman defeated her spouse for 3-4 consecutive games. Unable to bear the defeat, the man thrashed his wife brutally, injuring her spinal cord.

Following the incident, the man rushed his wife to an orthopedic surgeon. The woman is currently undergoing treatment.

A case was also registered with the 181 Abhayam helpline. Later, however, the woman chose to reconcile with her husband as he apologized for his behaviour.

Speaking about the incident, the Abayam counsellor said, “His ego was hurt thinking that his wife outsmarted him and was more intelligent as she also contributed to the family income.”
