Sambalpur: A 25-year-old youth ended his life at Kushta Pada area under Khetarajpur police limits in Sambalpur district, all because he could not buy medicines for his ailing father.

The youth, Sunil Sahu, was working at a garment shop in the city and was the sole breadwinner of his family.

Sources said Sunil was facing a lot of financial problems after the shop he was working in closed due to the lockdown. He was not employed after the shop reopened. With no source of income, Sunil was not able to  buy medicines for his bedridden father suffering from paralysis. Not being able to pay his younger brother’s tuition fee was also weighing on his mind.

On Monday night, at around 9 pm, he went outside and did not return. On Tuesday morning, he  was found hanging from a tree near Sadak Ghat at Bada Bazar.
