New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that it will not be possible to end the lockdown on April 14 considering the rise in cases.
He said he would consult Chief Ministers of all states, but it looked unlikely that the lockdown can be lifted anytime soon.
Life will not be the same again after COVID-19, said the PM during an all-party meet. “Massive behavioural, social and personal changes will have to take place,” PM Modi reportedly told leaders in the video conference.
Biju Janta Dal’s Pinaki Misra, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Trinamool Congress’ Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bahujan Samaj Party ‘s SC Mishra, YSR Congres Party’s Vijay Sai Reddy & Mithun Reddy, Janta Dal United’s Rajeev Ranjan Singh attended the video conference on Wednesday.
The number of positive cases has crossed 5,000 in India. While 149 people have died, 402 have recovered from the disease.
