Berhampur: The shops selling non-essential items in Berhampur will remain open from 1 pm to 7 pm from tomorrow.
The Berhampur Municipal Corporation has revised the business hours of the shops. The shops to operate according to new schedule include single brand and multi-brand showrooms, market complexes and malls.
Besides, the shops selling gift items, textile products, jewellery, mobile phones, books and stationery, electronic and home appliances will remain open. Similarly, internet cafe, xerox shops and mobile recharge shops are included in the category.
The shops selling electrical parts and agriculture equipment will function from 7 am to 7 pm. The working hours of restaurants, hotels, medicine shops, clinics and hospitals remain unchanged.
The municipal corporation has warned that those not adhering to the new timing will be penalised as per the provisions of law.
