He is no social butterfly, but as founder chairman and driving force of the Lalchand Group of Companies for the last three decades, Sunjoy Hans has never quite had the time to be a homebody either.
Until now, that is.
“Since I ventured into the world of business all those years ago, I had prepared for, faced and overcome myriad challenges along the way by God’s grace. But never in my wildest imagination had I anticipated a lockdown situation, which we are amidst now thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak,” admitted Hans.
However, there was no mistaking the glint of hope in his eyes and optimism in his voice as the ace entrepreneur expressed satisfaction with the way Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are tackling the situation here in the global war against the deadly coronavirus with bold and timely moves.
“I couldn’t be more grateful to them,” he said.
As a responsible citizen, Hans has been abiding by his duties diligently. While the 1,000-plus employees of Lalchand Group have been issued strict instructions to follow lockdown protocol to the T, a team comprising the Group’s managers and directors has been set up to reach out expeditiously to staff members in need of assistance.
With everything in order on that front, Hans is avowedly focusing on his body and mind more than he has in a long time. “I have been spending a lot more hours on the treadmill and catching up on long-overdue reading. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle has got me hooked these days,” he revealed, sounding happy to be home.
