Bhubaneswar-based designer Reemly Mohanty had gone to her parents’ place with her son just days before the nationwide lockdown was announced. By her own confession, they are in quarantine there but “having a good time.”
It’s a joint family, so one doesn’t know “when the day starts and when it ends, especially with a kid at home.”
Everyone has different ways of dealing with the unprecedented lockdown, enforced from March 24 midnight to contain the spread of the dangerous COVID-19. As for Reemly, she has fixed time slots for different activities.
“Working out is of utmost importance. I do my yoga and meditation daily,” she says.
She also makes it a point to spend time with her parents.
“I help my mother in the kitchen and experiment with my cooking and baking skills,” reveals Reemly, adding that she also plays ludo, cards and carrom with her aunt and cousins.
“And of course a lot of time in the day is spent in taking care of my son, who is just nine-and-a-half months old.”
How can her day be complete without devoting time to her passion and profession?
“Yes, I’ve been sketching, painting and coming up with new designs for my boutique collection,” Reemly informs.
All in all, Reemly is glad that she had come to her parent’s place just before the lockdown was implemented.
“Thanks to this lockdown, I’m being able to spend more time with my parents and family which had been missing from my busy routine life,” the Bhubaneswar-based designer Reemly admits.
Once the country comes out of this crisis period, Reemly hopes to emerge “fitter, mentally more stable and more energetic.”
She signs off with a Sadhguru quote: “This is the time to sit back, look at our lives, reflect, strategies the trajectory of what we want our life to be, and above all , realize the fragile nature of our existence.”
