Bhubaneswar: The Department of Posts, Odisha Circle, on Wednesday unveiled the logo and prospectus for its 10th state-level philatelic exhibition – ‘ODIPEX-2018’ – at postal recreation club in Chief Post Master General building here.
“The ODIPEX-2018 will be held at Rabindra Vidya Niketan in Keonjhar from December 15 to 17 to promote philately, social and cultural activities, and encourage the younger generation to take it up as a hobby. The exhibition will also provide an opportunity for philatelists and stamp collectors to showcase the glory of their collections”, informed Chief Post Master General, Odisha Circle Santosh Kumar Kamila after releasing the logo and prospectus.
Altogether, 500 philatelic frames will be displayed at this exhibition in which philatelists and stamp collectors from all over Odisha can participate. “The winners will be awarded with gold, silver, bronze medals and diploma. Various competitions like letter writing, stamp designing and philately quiz will be held separately for both Odia and English Medium school students,” he said.
Two special covers with cancellation will be released on each day of the exhibition. The exhibits will be classified into non-competitive classes and competitive classes, he added.
Among others, Post Master General, Berhampur Region, Jaleswar Kanhar, Post Master General, Sambalpur Region, Lalitendu Pradhan and DPS (Headquarters) G Gurunathan were present.
