Bengaluru: Lone survivor of Tamil Nadu chopper Group Captain Varun Singh, who was under treatment at Command Hospital in Bengaluru, passed away on Wednesday.
Although he was stable on Tuesday, his medical status was stated to be severe.
Singh had sustained severe injuries in the December 8 IAF helicopter crash near Coonoor, which killed 13 people on board, including India’s first CDS, his wife, and was airlifted from Wellington to Bengaluru for best medical support on December 9.
The Group Captain was recently conferred with Shaurya Chakra for his act of exceptional gallantry.
