Bhubaneswar: Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Neeraj Chandan, who was robbed of valuables worth lakhs of rupees from outside the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPAI) here on Tuesday, sought the intervention of Chief Minister Odisha Naveen Patnaik and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj into the matter.
In a tweet, Neeraj requested the CM and the External Affairs Minister to order immediate action by the officials concerned to get back the stolen valuables.
Chand had lodged a complaint at Air Field police station alleging that valuables including nine passports belonging to his wife and two children, an expensive mobile phone, 3, 000 dollar and a non-citizen card have been stolen from them.
“We have come from Ghana for getting a glimpse of Lord Jagannath in Puri. We have become helpless after losing everything. So, we appeal to the airport authority and the local police to help us and initiate immediate action in this regard,” Neeraj had said soon after the loot incident.
