Looted Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 5 L Recovered By Railway Police

Bhubaneswar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials recovered some looted gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh and arrested a person in this connection on Saturday.

The accused identified as Rabi Nayak is a professional robber and involved in a number of loot cases.

“Rabi had decamped with the gold ornaments from a woman passenger on May 4. The accused had snatched away her luggage soon after she arrived at Bhubaneswar Railway Station from Visakhapatnam,” an RPF official informed.

Fortunately, the valuables was recovered a day before the woman’s marriage and the same handed over to her. However, two other associates of the criminal, who were involved in the loot incident, are absconding, the official added.
