Puri: The Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath finally reached Gundicha Temple in Puri on Sunday. It had halted near Balagandi Chhak after the sunset the previous evening.
The pulling of the chariot began at around 9.15 am after the Daitapati servitors performed Mangala Alati and Abakasha rituals.
As scheduled, the deities would be taken on Pahandi to the sanctum sanctorum of the Gundicha Temple on Monday.
The Pahandi rituals would begin after servitors put up Charamala
(ladder made of palm wood) to the chariots.The chariots of Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra had reached Gundicha Temple last evening. Braving heavy rain, the devotees had darshan of the deities at Saradhabali all through the night on Saturday.
