Lovable Sardar ‘Sodhi’ Of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Fame Goes Missing

New Delhi: Gurcharan Singh, who played ‘ Sodhi’ in the popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has gone missing. While police are trying to find Sodhi, his close friend Ms Soni has revealed that the actor was unwell for the last few days and had even undergone a few tests. She hoped that Singh would be found and stated that she is constantly in touch with his family.

“His parents are worried and have filed a missing report in Delhi. I tried to file one in Mumbai as well, however, since he hasn’t returned back a complaint cannot be filed here. Gurucharan ji’s health also hasn’t been keeping well for the last many days, so I am worried about that,” Ms Soni told Pinkvilla.

“Before leaving for Delhi, his blood pressure was high and he had undergone a few tests as well. He wasn’t even eating much before he left for Delhi. I really hope and pray that he is fine, and returns back safe and sound,” she added.

On Friday, it was reported that Gurucharan’s father filed a missing complaint in which he said that his son Gurucharan Singh, aged 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.

According to News18, Gurucharan’s missing complaint had been filed in Delhi’s Palam area. We learnt that Police officials are investigating the case and trying to trace the actor’s call records. “Missing complaint was filed around 4 days back in Palam, South Delhi. Based on this, police are investigating the case. No FIR has been filed as of now. All investigation is being done based on the missing complaint,” a police source told News18.

“He (Gurucharan Singh Sodhi) was last spotted near Delhi airport. Police are now trying to get his call records to know who he last spoke to on call or via message,” the insider added.

Gurcharan Singh was a founding cast member of the popular TV show. However, he left the show in 2013 only to return next year on public demand. After his exit in 2020, he was replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri.

There were speculations that Gurucharan Singh exited the show due to delays in his payment, however, the actor had remained tight-lipped on the issue. “Hum pyaar mohabbat se aage badhna pasand karna chahte hain (I want to move forward with love and respect.). There are some other reasons I don’t want to talk about,” he had said.
